Building Confidence. Creating Independence. Preparing For Real Life.

At Edel Support Services, our Skills Independence Hub is designed for young NDIS participants who want more than just “support hours.” This is a small-group, real-world life skills program focused on building independence, confidence, social connection, communication and practical everyday abilities in a relaxed and welcoming community setting. Unlike large group programs where participants can get overlooked, we intentionally keep our groups small.

Real-Life Situations

Long-Term Confidence

Only 4 Participants Per Group

This allows our experienced support workers to provide genuine one-on-one attention, personalised guidance and meaningful mentoring while still encouraging social interaction and teamwork.

Whether participants are working toward more independence at home, improving social confidence, preparing for employment or simply learning practical life skills, our Hub creates a safe environment where real growth can happen.

Small Group Detail 2

Small Groups Create Better Outcomes

One of the biggest differences in our program is the intentionally small group size. Many larger programs can feel overwhelming, impersonal or difficult for participants who need extra encouragement and guidance.

By limiting our groups to only 4 participants, our experienced support workers can:

  • Understand each participant’s personality and goals
  • Adapt activities to different learning styles
  • Provide more one-on-one guidance
  • Encourage quieter participants to engage comfortably
  • Build stronger trust and relationships
  • Create a calmer, more supportive environment

This allows participants to feel seen, included and genuinely supported rather than simply supervised.

What Makes Our Hub Different?

Many providers offer “independence support” as part of routine care. At Edel Support Services, we wanted to create something completely different.

Our Skills Independence Hub is not designed around simply filling support hours or supervising participants through basic daily tasks.

It is designed to actively help young people develop confidence, decision-making abilities, communication skills and practical independence that can genuinely improve their future opportunities and quality of life.

Rather than participants sitting around passively or being taken through repetitive activities, our Hub focuses on meaningful real-world skill development.

Practical Skills

Real-Life Learning In A Comfortable Environment

We also move away from the “clinical” or overly structured feel that many group programs have.

Our Hub is designed to feel welcoming, relaxed and community-focused.

Participants learn through practical experiences and natural interaction in a comfortable setting where they can gradually build confidence at their own pace.

The focus is on helping young people feel capable, motivated and proud of their progress.

Building Skills That Matter Beyond The Program

The Skills Independence Hub is designed to support long-term growth — not just short-term activities.

The practical and social skills developed within the Hub can help participants work toward:

  • Greater independence at home
  • Improved confidence in the community
  • Better social interaction
  • Future employment pathways
  • Stronger routines and self-management
  • Increased confidence in everyday situations

For many young participants, this can become an important stepping stone toward a more independent and fulfilling future.

Experienced Support Workers Who Actually Engage

The quality of support workers makes a huge difference.

Our team focuses on active mentoring, encouragement and meaningful engagement rather than simply observing from the sidelines.

We understand that every participant has different strengths, personalities and confidence levels.

Our goal is to create an environment where participants feel respected, encouraged and motivated to keep growing.
